Born and raised in Alentejo, Portugal, Luís studied food engineering and worked in Alentejo’s food industry. He now manages a traditional pastry shop in Estremoz, preparing local specialties like gadanhas. He first discovered mountain biking in 2004 and quickly got into cycling. After riding St. Jacobs way in Spain and cycling around Serra da Estrela in Portugal, he found that cycling is the best way to get to know a region, the people, and its traditions.
Deeply in love with his homeland of Alentejo and Portugal, Luís finds happiness in helping others see his country through his perspective and helping them understand why the Portuguese are the way that they are.
