Lewis spent the first 24 years of his life preparing to be an academic, reading English Literature as an undergraduate at Oxford and moving on to pursue a PhD in the study of medieval maps. However, while many of his colleagues spent the long summer vacations assiduously cultivating their academic careers, Lewis went off to express his inner gypsy, exploring every inch of his beloved France with a little old tent, a delicate old bicycle, and a happy belly. Lewis has found his spiritual home as a tour guide for DuVine. Not only does he get to eat the best food and ride the most stunning roads in the world, he also gets to meet and entertain the most wonderful, fascinating people! In the words of a famous wanderer, “Life is too brief and too rich to tiptoe through it halfheartedly, rather than galloping at it with whooping excitement and ambition.”
