Born in Stellenbosch, South Africa, Jaco grew up playing many sports before he discovered his love of cycling. This he attributes to his father, who took him out for rides after school and on weekends, as well as to his first race. The father-son duo competed on a tandem when Jaco was just 13 years old. By his mid 20s, Jaco joined cycling’s World Tour—the highest level in the sport. His career spanned a total of seven Grand Tours, including one Tour de France, two Giri d’Italia, and four Vuelta a España, as well as all the other big road races on the international UCI calendar. Having visited so many spectacular places, Jaco always wanted to share those experiences with others, believing there is no better way to see the world than by bicycle.
