Christiaan began cycling when he was very, very young—as a Dutchman, a bike is the first thing given to a little boy. He started going to the Tour de France yearly around age 12 and would sleep in a tent next to the road where the peloton would pass the next day. Around that same time, his family moved to Spain, where the culture continued to shape him.
Christiaan started racing for a team from Tarragona in 2007 and his love for cycling grew bigger and bigger. He studied Sports Marketing in Amsterdam and simultaneously worked for the world pro tour team Lotto Jumbo. He spent years in the cycling apparel industry and still owns an online gear store that retails pro cycling tour clothing from past seasons. Since he started traveling the world at a young age, he’s collected countless experiences on different continents and can’t wait to trade stories with DuVine travelers (while also infusing a dose of inside knowledge about cycling, the world, and his hometowns).
