Ben lives in northwest England in the Lake District National Park and has spent almost 20 years guiding trekking and cycling trips. He has worked as a tour leader and led expeditions in the Himalayas, Asia, North Africa, and Latin America. In his time off, Ben loves to go fell running and enjoys long-distance touring trips. His long-distance cycling trips have taken him through South East Asia, the length of New Zealand, end to end in the United Kingdom, and from Bangkok to Delhi.
