Simone is a wine trade professional and cycling enthusiast. Born in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, he studied languages and literature at the University of Trieste. He moved straight to London after graduation, where he started his career in the wine industry after working in hospitality and retail. He obtained the Wine and Spirits Education Trust Advanced Certificate and then worked for five years at Champagne Laurent-Perrier, where he truly discovered his love for champagne.
After moving back to Friuli in 2020 he went full circle and started working in the vineyards and the cellar as an assistant winemaker in the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation while organizing pop-up immersive gastronomic events. He also rekindled his passion for cycling, which began when watching the Giro d’Italia and the Tour as a kid with his grandad. His decision to start guiding for DuVine comes from the opportunity to put together all his passions under one single roof!
He can’t wait to talk about his favorite wine and food venues across Friuli and the bordering regions.
