Barry is a former National Olympic and World Tour Cycling Manager who lives by the motto: “improve yourself within the available environment for a maximal experience.” Currently, Barry is a full-time coach to athletes of all levels—from world champions to cycling enthusiasts seeking a more enjoyable ride. Barry has vast experience preparing cyclists for endurance events such as the grueling eight-day Cape Epic mountain bike race in South Africa, where he lives. His passion lies in maximizing potential for the demands of performance events within the constraints of everyday lifestyles.
Barry holds a UCI Level 3 Coaching Certification from the Union Cycliste Internationale, a UCI Sporting Director Diploma (World Tour) from the Union Cycliste Internationale, and a diploma in Fitness and Nutrition from INTEC College, South Africa. His recent achievements include coaching MTB Double World Champion in XCO and XCM Pauline Ferrand-Prevot, bronze medalist in XCM World Championships Robyn De Groot, and KOM at Tour du Limousin Morne van Niekerk.
